Dear Friend of the Persecuted Church—
In today’s mail, I received a donation with this short but powerful note from a Vacation Bible School teacher:
Hi Gabe,
Here is a little $ to use where it is most needed...
I do not know the names of the two little girls who gave the $100, but my Mom told me that their Daddy is in a wheelchair and on disability, and their Mom doesn’t earn much over minimum wage. (It often is the poor who know how to reach out to the poor. Precious.) May the Lord take these small loaves and multiply it into basketfuls.
I can only imagine the scene in Heaven where these two young, nameless donors meet the people that they were able to help—perhaps a child their own age, orphaned after her parents refused to give up their faith. And only God knows what this gift can do! Maybe it will mean the difference between starvation and satisfaction, or disease and health, or maybe it will “just” be a practical demonstration of God’s faithfulness to His own.
That is quite the reward to look forward to!
And while a hundred dollar donation may be more tangible, our prayers provide the same blessing—blessing we do not know, and maybe cannot even imagine! Who knows what our prayers for the persecuted church might accomplish? Perhaps a government investigator will pass by a house church, allowing its ministry to continue. Perhaps the Great Physician will heal a child’s fatal disease. We may never know.
Or perhaps we will know—perhaps on that day, standing before the throne, waiting for the words “well done” from the omnipotent God, we will see in eternity’s light a picture of the work that we were a part of.
Yours for the Body of Christ,

Gabriel J. Waddell
Executive Director
