Dear Friend of the Persecuted Church—

            Ministry is all about exploiting doors of opportunity that God opens up before us.  Though it can take discernment to know which direction to go, pursuing His plan brings with it the joy of doing things that are worth doing.

            God is opening one such door for Remember right now.  Back in January, a small team went on a survey trip to the Middle East, culminating in a visit to central Sudan.  The suffering that Christians in the Nuba Mountain district have experienced is both intense and ongoing.  The widows and orphans of martyrs abound; almost every believer has been directly affected by persecution.

            We ministered on that trip, and have been ministering to three widows since that time, but the door is opening for us to establish a base for greater ministry.  On the survey trip we investigated the possibilities of building a multipurpose building for use as a clinic, safe house, church, and potentially even an orphanage and a school.  In just a couple of months, we will be going back to start that building.

            Our team is planning on leaving on November 24, traveling into the heart of  Sudan, and returning in early December.  A lot goes in to planning a trip like this, especially into a country as restrictive as Sudan, and I would ask that you begin to pray for this trip even now.   As you know, if you follow the news, Sudan’s political situation could change very quickly, and without God’s protection this door could quickly slam shut.

            Please pray that God would send His “hornet” before us.  He sent that hornet before the children of Israel, to lead them to the Promised Land, to conquer giants, and to prepare a place for His people.  We are following His leading, and seeking His protection, as we forge forward to serve His people.
