Dear Friend of the Persecuted Church—
Back on the ground after an incredible trip to Thailand, I have more stories and pictures than I will ever know what to do with. Now the hard job is narrowing them down to fit in your inbox!
But first, thank you. Thank you for your prayers on behalf of our team and the little ones we ministered to. We could feel those prayers at work, and they were effective! God opened the doors for us to do more ministry than I ever thought possible. Our medical staff examined and treated over 100 children, and we prepared for every one of those children either an updated medical record or a brand new one. We are praying that this work will ease the process of resettlement for many of these children—not to mention give us the ability to minister to each one of them in more productive ways every time we see them.
As a matter of fact, we could already see our past work bearing fruit. In our planning and our medical treatment, we were able to go to the next level to meet their specific needs. More than medical treatment, though, we were able to watch our relationships with the children grow. An unfamiliar face can certainly spread the hope of Jesus Christ, but now that these children know us our ministry is even more effective.

I hope that you can see your prayers at work in these pictures. I also hope that, even though our team is back in the U.S., you will not stop praying! These children are suffering daily from disease and hardship, and face an uncertain future that begs for your intercession.
The missionary hymn “Here I am Lord” is a pledge of service to Jesus Christ. The words are quite simple, taken from Genesis 46:2, where God calls Jacob to service from the dark of the night. Jacob responds by simply saying, “Here am I.” The last line of this song is profound, as the pledge to serve God is concluded by the promise, “I will hold Your people in my heart.”
That is what you are doing in your prayers—you are holding the people of God in your heart, giving them a blessing that transcends the space between you. Thank you for doing this vital work.
Yours for the Body of Christ,

Gabriel J. Waddell
