Dear
Friend of Remember,
It
is hard to stop praising God for the success He poured out on our team
while we were in the Middle East! Not only were we kept safe, but we
were able to accomplish all of our goals and then some. I cannot think
back on the stories we heard and the people we met without my heart
breaking all over again, but at the same time I cannot think about the
opportunities that we have without incredible excitement.
Thanks
to your donations and prayers, we were able to reach out to persecuted
believers in very tangible ways. We provided thirty heaters, more than
thirty blankets, and other supplies to Iraqi Christians practically
exiled in Amman, Jordan, to give them what they need to survive the
cold winter. We bought a bed for the young widow of a martyr in Sudan
that had no other place to rest after working long hours to feed her
four children. And everywhere we went, we were able to minister encouragement
to our fellow believers.
We
talked to countless people with incredible stories of persecution. In
the Nuba Mountains of central Sudan, for instance, we asked a gathering
of pastors and church leaders if they had stories of persecution in
their own lives—and pastor after pastor after pastor came and
told us their stories of fathers and brothers being killed, mothers
and sisters abused and left without a provider. We talked to widows,
we talked to orphans, and we talked to torture victims, all people who
have experienced true, gut-level suffering for holding fast in their
beliefs.
Now
that we have taken this trip to find the need, our next months will
be busy finding ways to meet it. The door has been opened for us; please
pray that God would provide resources to enable us to step through
and increase our blessing to our brothers and sisters in Christ.

Also, for the next few weeks I will be talking about what we saw and
accomplished on this trip in The Weekly Reminder. To sign up,

for the Persecuted Church,
