"Remember them that are in bonds, as bound with them; and them which suffer adversity, as being yourselves also in the body."

-Hebrews 13:3

Jordan Medical Trip ...

The war in Iraq has caused many Iraqi Christians to become refugees in the Middle East. These refugees have been forced to flee their homes, and many have chosen to come to Jordan. Once in Jordan, their lives continue to be difficult, as they are routinely denied work permits and governmental aid. There, apart from their homes and possessions, and in a strange land, these refugees try to scratch out a living.

Into that need, Remember is taking aid. Working in conjunction with a church in Amman, Remember will be taking a medical team to establish five days of mobile clinics, focusing on meeting the needs of Christian Iraqi refugees in Amman. We will be building on the success of previous ministry in Jordan.

That's the main focus of the trip, but there are others - this trip is the perfect chance for us to build contacts that will allow us to minister on an even deeper level in the years to come. We will be establishing contacts with Jordanian medical authorities and local doctors to enable us to fine-tune our approach. The refugees in Jordan are not going anywhere soon, and we approach this trip not as a one-time event, but as the beginning of so much more.

Our final goal is to continue to raise awareness of the needs of these brothers and sisters as we shoot pictures and footage to use in raising prayer support throughout the United States.

Our team will depart for Jordan on July 4, 2008, and return July 14.

For more information on the situation in Jordan, read the Jordan Background Briefing.
