Christian Children's Home / Burma ...
Remember has recently undertaken support
of the Christian Children's Home, an
orphanage housing approximately 50
orphans. Many of these children have
heartbreaking stories of their fathers who
were pastors or church leaders being brutally
killed for their faith.
Despite the political climate in Burma, the
orphanage operates with full government
permission and the work of
God is clearly being accomplished
through Pastor Paul and a couple who
live at the simple facility.
The children are in seemingly
good physical condition.
They are bright, cheerful,
and well disciplined.
However, they have no medical care, and a
few children have serious medical needs.
The local hospital has no medication and no
Doctor on staff. Also, the orphanage facilities
are in need of improvements and expansion.
Most of all, we want the children in
the Christian Children's Home to know that
they are loved and to see them grow in the
nuture and admonition of the Lord.
Remember believes that we have been presented
an opportunity to sow into a work
that will continue to bear fruit for years to
come.
Remember has identified specific needs of the
Christian Children's Home and also hopes to aid
Pastor Paul in starting additional orphanages
in other areas heavily affected by persecution. We
hope to collect items to take to Burma as well as
raise money to purchase some of the needed
items in country:
- Children's shoes (flip flops) and clothes
- Rain coats/umbrellas for the children
- Small gifts, toys, and hygiene items
- Medical supplies and multivitamins
- Purchase and installation of a water
purification system
- Purchase of adjoining field and farm
animals for food and vocational training
for the children
- Musical instruments
- Construction supplies to build a kitchen
in the current facility
All monies designated for the Christian Children's
Home will go 100% to meeting the needs of the
Home.
Remember is planning and preparing for an
in-country ministry at the children's home
during the week of June 19th-29th, 2010. Our
goal is to take a team of approximately 12
people to do construction and repair on the
existing kitchen and adjoining buildings, install
a water purification system, and build
some fences for the future procurement of
livestock. Additionally, we will conduct a
medical clinic
for the children
of both orphanages
as well as
the families of
Pastor Paul's
church.
